What's My Current Spanish Level?
If you are a complete beginner, you will join an Elementary A class; if fully conversant, you should be in a Superior group. If you are somewhere in between, you can follow the tips below to help you identify your current Spanish level. You can also give us a call for a quick oral placement conversation at 917-239-0878. And, of course, your placement can be adjusted once you have enrolled in class.
Following are some guidelines to help you estimate your level:
-
IF you took Spanish for 1 to 3 years in high school or college, but have not practiced much;
OR if you have taken Spanish recently, a few hours a week for less than a year,
THEN your level is Pre-intermediate A or Pre-intermediate B
-
IF you took Spanish for 4 to 10 years in high school and/or college, but have not practiced recently;
OR if you have taken Spanish recently, a few hours a week for about a year,
THEN your level is Intermediate A or Intermediate B
-
IF you took Spanish for 4 to 10 years in school and have practiced on and off since then;
OR if you have taken Spanish recently a few hours a week for about 3 years,
THEN your level is Advanced A or advanced B
